First Friday

Season Begins Friday, April 7!

First Friday is downtown Ashland’s monthly block party! Meet up with friends and family the first Friday of each month for live music, classic car show and activities. Dine at downtown’s local eateries and shop extended hours at unique boutiques and specialty stores!

Shop the Sidewalk

“Shop the Sidewalk” on Friday, April 7, and kickoff the 2017 First Friday season with downtown’s locally owned shops and boutiques! Your favorite downtown shopping spots will all be featured under a canopy tent on Judd Plaza, while DJ Ross Turner spins the hits!

August 4: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

7th Annual Night Moves 5K

Ashland in Motion laces up for the 7th Annual Night Moves 5K, zipping through the First Friday crowd on August 4.

Presented by Tri-State Rehab Services and Preferred Fitness, the flat and fast course runs through the Central Business District and around Central Park. Runners begins and end with a big finish – cheered on by the First Friday crowd!

Event t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 150 registrants. Trophies are awarded to the first two overall male and female finishers and awards given to the first three finishers in each male and female group. Participants will receive complimentary gift bags, refreshments, and are eligible for door prizes. Race is open to all ages.

Race cost is $18 if pre-registered before August 4; $25 the day of the event. Pre-registered groups of 8 or more may register for $15 each. On-site registration begins at 6 p.m. Race begins at 7 p.m. at the intersection of Winchester Ave. and 16th St. Participants may pre-register at www.tristateracer.com/.

First Friday Classic Car Show

Are you the proud owner of a classic car? First Friday is the perfect venue to show off your vintage vehicle and connect with area car enthusiasts! Participating is easy: simply bring your car downtown beginning at 3 p.m. on the first Friday of every month and park in the designated event area. First Friday volunteers will be on deck to help out, answer questions, and collect registration fees.

Registration is only $5 and is optional, although registration fees fund future AIM events and benefit other area non-profits. Registration also enters participants into monthly raffles for exciting door prizes!

First Friday Vendors

Arts, Crafts, and Farmed Good Vendor Opportunities

Interested in becoming a First Friday vendor? Here are the facts:

  • Vendors must pay a $10 fee to participate at each First Friday event
  • Vendors must obtain and bring proof of a temporary or annual City of Ashland business license. Information regarding business licenses may be found here: http://www.ashlandky.gov/business/business_licenses.php
  • Vendors are responsible for bringing their own table, pop-up tent, chairs, etc.
  • Vendors may keep 100% of their sales
  • Vendors must utilize sidewalk space identified by Ashland in Motion
  • Vendors are limited to arts, crafts, and farmed goods ONLY
